Greetings fellow coffee lovers! Anyone who knows and loves coffee would have known that yesterday was national coffee day. Yes, I know I’m a day late but let’s just go with it, please?
Whether you’re an Americano admirer or a Latte lover, coffee posses the charming quality to make us nicer people. It transforms us from grumpy procrastinators into energetic and decent contributing members of society. Being a recent coffee convert myself, I’m only just beginning to be exposed to the world of infinite possibility. Here is why I think coffee is so damn amazing.
- It’s my new alternative to Red Bull
As a student, energy and sleep is hard to come by. How did I tackle my sleep deprivation and lack of motivation? Red Bull!! I have for years been an avid supporter of the small cans of energy. Yet, I figured drinking more than three a day was a little more than unhealthy. I don’t feel as bad for guzzling a few coffees before a lecture instead of the fizziness of Red Bull. - I can actually go out for Coffee
The clichè phrase of going out for coffee actually applies to me now! I’m no longer that person who orders a tea or a diet coke. I’m now a part of the coffee club, being offered chocolate sprinkles and marshmallows. It does not get much better than that! - It gets me through late shifts and long reading sessions
Working evenings and late nights does get a little tense. Thankfully a mocha and a 5 minute sit down usually gives me the energy I need to get through an 8-hour night shift. I rely on coffee for reading too. When words start to become a blur on the page I know it’s time for a coffee. After that I can whiz through the whole book in a day!
4. It gives me an excuse to buy and use more mugs
I’m a sucker for cute mugs.
Coffee is life. For those who haven’t been exposed to that caffeine lifestyle, coffee probably isn’t a necessity. For me, and many others, it’s the difference between being a happy human and an unsociable mess.
So if you’ll excuse me, I need to have my next dose…
