This year has gone far too quickly for obvious reasons. Whilst in a daily bout of boredom, it suddenly hit me that I’ll be 25 in 6 months with very little to show for it.
I still have so much that I want to do. And if there is one thing that this year has proved is that life is short and can change with the click of a finger. So I’ve thought long and hard about a few things to do before I hit 25…
1. Holiday Solo
Because I’m a miserable and antisocial bitch of course. I was in Poland for a couple of days by myself last year but I don’t feel like that counts. Maybe I’ll find a private island/beach somewhere… The less people the better.
2. Goodbye Red
I’ve been dying my hair various shades of red for 8 years and no one in my life (apart from my immediate family) know me without my signature rouge locks. It’s probably time my hair had a break and I returned to being a “Plain Jane”.
3. Take a Trip on the London Eye
Despite living in and around London nearly my whole life it’s something I have never been able to do. I feel like it’s something that I need to tick of the list so I can really call myself a “Londoner”.
4. New Year’s Kiss
Nope. Never been kissed on New Year’s Eve. Sad, I know. It’s always been spent falling asleep in front of the TV, working (yawn), screaming with all my single friends or tucking a lightweight & passed out boyfriend into bed before the clock strikes midnight (I sure know how to choose them).
5. Watch the sun rise
Not on the way back from a night out or dashing past it rising over London Bridge in the winter on the way to work. I wanna get up early, find a cute hilltop and do it properly. Not sure where I will find that spot in London…
6. Take parents out for dinner
They’ve done it so many times for me. It’s about time I start treating them too.
7. Open a Lifetime ISA
Hella boring but it has to be done, right?
8. Enjoy Gin
It’s about time my tastebuds grew up and liked a sophisticated drink. I’d like to be able to order a gin and tonic at a bar without cringing…
9. Finish a book
It’s been an uphill struggle to finish a book since I graduated.
10. Run 10k.
I’m probably the worst runner ever but with the way the world is going, I feel like I need to be prepared to run from an apocalypse at any moment…
11. See the Northern Lights
Mum and I said we’d go to Iceland for my 21st to try and see them… 4 years later maybe? (I know you’re reading this!)
12. Climb Snowdon
The only mountain that I didn’t attempt in the 3 Peaks Challenge…
13. Go Skiing
Because life is too short not to hurtle yourself down a mountain slope in the pursuit of an adrenaline rush.
14. Get better at Spanish
A “D” at A-Level Spanish has haunted me for years…
15. Cycle around London
Walking around London without getting hit by a cyclist is difficult enough. Maybe it will be safer to cycle…
16. Go to a Concert
I’ve been to a concert every year since I was 18. I’m not letting Coronavirus destroy my 7 year streak.
17. Be in a relationship
Winter (a.k.a: Cuffing Season) is approaching. As I approach 3 years single, my life is becoming dangerously close to a Bridget Jones film.
18. Pay off my credit card
In an attempt to be a financially savvy and responsible adult
19. Make my own cocktail
It would be rude to love cocktails so much and not try to create my own. It will no doubt be inspire by Pornstar Martinis… This might even be the start of my life as a mixologist!
20. Get promoted
Be a boss bitch.
21. Design More
An “A” at A-Level Graphic Design and my tutor’s encouragement has gone unused for years… I’ll start making more cool stuff.
22. Get Blackout Drunk
I need at least 1 destructive action before I turn 25. I’m usually the composed drunk who helps others get home and not make a tit out of themselves… Just once, I’d like to go a bit crazy and have someone carry me out of a club.
23. Give up Control
This may be a bit ironic seeing as I am organising and listing things I want to do before 25… It might be healthy for me to stop meticulously trying to plan and control my life, even for a little while.
24. Give Socials a break
I LIVE for the ‘gram. It’s about time I took a break. Maybe for a day at first.
25. Visit Yosemite National Park
I love walking, hiking and climbing mountains. When Apple updates Mac iOS to “Yosemite” the default background was amazing. To be able to see it in real life is the dream. Whether I can do that in the next 6 months is a very different story…
